Holistic rehabilitation
We are the undisputed leader in our market for the holistic and lifelong care of people with congenital or acquired spinal paralysis, or whose condition has resulted from a disease or accident. We wish to reinforce this position through clear profiling in our marketing strategy. The inter-related disciplines which are required for administering holistic care not only play a support role; they also provide a considerable competitive advantage to our core business, "Paraplegiology". We are characterised by high degrees of technical expertise and quality of performance in these areas.
Individual treatment to optimise independence
The comprehensive rehabilitation of a person with spinal paralysis begins on the first day after the accident. On the one hand, the medical treatment which paraplegia or tetraplegia necessitates is administered. On the other hand, it is our aim to restore the structure of patients' personalities and lives as much as we can. This concerns psychological, physical and social aspects, such as work and their family life.
Our work at the SPC Nottwil is conducted on the basis of the principles drawn up by the World Health Organisation (WHO) on the "International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health", or ICF for short.
