Clinical Trial Unit

The mission of the Clinical Trial Unit is to engage in and to facilitate patient-oriented and clinically relevant outcome research in the field of spinal cord injury

Research activities of the Clinical Trial Unit
Currently, the Clinical Trial Unit is active in the following research topics:

  • musculoskeletal adaptation
  • respiratory function
  • functional electrostimulation (FES)

The Clinical Trial Unit is also supporting SPZ personnel in their research activities, like for example:

  • writing ethics applications
  • study planning and statistical analysis of study data
  • writing publications

Quality control of clinical studies at the SPC is the focus of our activities. Our vision is to establish a center of competence for clinical research in the field of spinal cord injury in Nottwil in close collaboration with the different clinical departments of the SPZ.
