Doctor's rounds
Doctors shall make their rounds each morning. Please be waiting in your room on time. You can find out the precise time on your ward. ICF consultations are held once a week.

Going out
Patients may leave the site of the SPC up to 10 pm with a doctor's permission. You will require a "going out pass" which the nursing staff will provide for you. If you require assistance getting ready for bed, please mention this to the staff on duty on the ward.

You may receive visits at the following times:
11 am – 8 pm on the intensive care unit.
11 am – 8 pm in the patient's room.
11 am – 10 pm outside the patient's room.
Visitors may only be received outside visiting times by arrangement with staff. Visitors are asked to eat their meals in the restaurant and to use public toilets.

Call extension 5764 (internal) to make an appointment. Opening hours:
Tue., Wed. and. Fri, 10 am to 6:30 pm.
Thu., 1:30 pm to 8 pm.

The shop stocks a wide selection of day-to-day items. Opening hours:
Mon. to Fri., 6:30 am to 10 pm.
Sat. and Sun., 8 am to 10 pm.

Free time
You can find ways of tapping into your creative side in the Studio for Design. Studio opening hours:
Mon to Thu., from 2 pm to 6 pm
Wed., from 7 pm to 9 pm
Fri. to Sun., from 2 pm to 6 pm
Depending on visitor numbers, the studio may open from as early as 10:30 on Sundays.
If you wish, you can also arrange an appointment in your room: call extension 5715 (internal).

Money and valuables
You can lock small amount of cash and valuables in your bedside cabinet. Ask the nursing staff for a key. We would advise you against taking large amounts of money with you. We accept no liability for loss.

Training courses for patient and their relatives
The ICU office will provide you with information about courses, training days and workshops for patients and their relatives.

Treatment plan
You will be given a week plan showing your personal treatment sessions and examinations.

There is reading material at your disposal in the recreation rooms. The library in the GZI also offers specialist literature und fiction. audio books and games. Extension 5778 (internal). Opening hours:
Monday to Friday from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 4:45 pm.
In addition, a trolley with a selection of books is brought around the wards every Wednesday between 7 pm and 9 pm.

Daily newspapers
There is a selection of daily newspapers in German, French and Italian available to read in the recreation rooms.

Should you wish, you can pay to have your clothes washed in the SPC's in-house laundry. You can also have them ironed for an extra charge. Take your clothes to the laundry in a plastic bag (available on the ward). Opening hours:
Monday to Friday from 7 am to 11:30 am and from 12:30 pm to 4 pm.

Weekend leave
The regular weekend leave begins on Friday at 4 pm and ends on Sunday at 10 pm. Ask the nursing staff for a "going out pass". Special rules apply to long weekends and public holidays.

The ward management will happily provide you with information about services such as meals, ways of helping, training days and courses for relatives.
There are hotel rooms and studios available in the adjacent GZI Seminar and Conference Hotel. To find out details call +41 41 939 64 64 or extension 6464 (internal).
GZI opening hours:
Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 9 pm
Saturday from 6:30 am to 5 pm.
Sunday and public holidays from 6:30 am to 2 pm.

When you are admitted, the ICU manager will visit you and tell us about the ways in which you can provide us with feedback. After all, our primary objective is to have satisfied patients. Do you have anything you wish to tell us? Feedback, a complaint or a suggestion? If you do, we'd like to hear it. You have the following options:
You can tell the ICU manager, the consultant or any of his or her assistants. You can also make your suggestions to the Quality Management Department on ext. 63 31 (internal). Or you can place your message in the feedback letterbox on each ward.
